Our Main House
The main house of Flowering Lotus Meditation and Retreat Center is located at 204 South Clark Street (HWY 51) in Magnolia, Mississippi. It is a three story Victorian mansion that was previously known as The Coney House which was built in 1896 and is on the National Historic Registry. It has been beautifully renovated with many modern amenities, while maintaining its distinct historic characteristics. One of its outstanding features is an abundance of stained glass windows and a beautiful turret.
It has two meditation rooms that can accommodate about 35 meditators. There are eight bedrooms, each with lovely private bathrooms. Original claw foot tubs have been updated by the addition of shower hoops. There are many original mantel pieces, some with original tile and marble.
The main house can sleep 16 people.
The living room has an extensive library of books on Buddhism.
The kitchen has 2 refrigerators, one stove, a double wall oven and a dishwasher.
The property sits on one acre with an abundance of fruit trees including blueberries, peaches, figs, persimmons, oranges, plums and more. There is an enclosed porch with two 7 foot swings and 4 adjustable recliner chairs.
