COMING HOME: A Vipassana Meditation Retreat

Registration begins at 3:30 p.m. Dinner is at 6:00 p.m., first program begins at 7:30 p.m. 

 

We are deeply longing for Home, the place in which we are spacious, peaceful, connected to our hearts – where we are true to ourselves and to the callings of our spirit. Home is both familiar and profoundly new and fresh.

Connect with your heartfelt knowing through silent and guided meditation, and the embodied practice of sensory awareness, teaching, and instruction. There will be time for questions and discussion.

Come home to yourself. Join us during this precious time designed to nurture body, heart, and mind. This retreat is suitable for both newcomers and experienced students.

Teacher Bio: 

Terry Ray is a licensed psychotherapist certified in EMDR, TFT, and EFT, and is in private practice in Boulder, Colorado. Terry began practicing Vipassana Meditation at Naropa Institute in 1974, with Joseph Goldstein. She has been practicing and teaching meditation and yoga since the 1970s. She completed the Community Dharma Leader's program at Spirit Rock in 1998. Terry is a co-founder of the Insight Meditation Community of Colorado and has served as a member of their Board for more than 15 years. 

She has also studied intensively with Charlotte Selver in Sensory Awareness since 1975 and was certified by Charlotte to lead the work of Sensory Awareness, a body-centered mindfulness practice. She has served two terms as President of the Sensory Awareness Leader’s Guild and has been a member of the Sensory Awareness Foundation Board of Directors. (Sensory awareness practices will be included in this retreat.) 

Terry leads residential, non-residential and backpacking retreats throughout the U.S. and Mexico, including annual teaching engagements at Flowering Lotus, where she is one of our most popular and beloved teachers. She is the author of Embodied Presence, A Spiritual Memoir. Copies of the book will be available for purchase at the retreat. 

Terry’s method is gentle yet powerful and focuses on waking up to one’s innate wisdom through simple mindfulness practice. Her deep respect for the integrity of the individual offers a safe and nurturing environment for healing and growth.

• Campsites: tents only, no hookups - $120

*Cabins are a 10 minute drive at 15 mph.

NOTE: Your Registration Fee covers the cost of 5 vegetarian meals plus the base cost of weekend lodging, based on the following housing options. It does not include a dana contribution to Flowering Lotus or the teacher; opportunities for dana gifts will be available at the end of the retreat.
