More with Kristie Grasis

Kristie Grasis will also teach a Flowering Lotus weekend retreat August 13-15, 2021 entitled “Healing With The Dharma.” This 3-day retreat will focus on using the Dharma as a tool to help heal from trauma. An understanding of the Eightfold Path is a pre-requisite for this retreat.

We are offering this pre-requisite at two different times (this 7-day retreat and a weekend retreat May 14-16), to give everyone an opportunity to complete the pre-requisite.

This firm foundation in the Dharma will enable you to grasp the concepts being used at the “Healing with the Dharma” retreat. If you have a solid understanding of the Eightfold Path, and want to register for Healing With The Dharma without attending one of these retreats, you will be able to contact the teacher directly for a waiver at MSInsightMeditation@gmail.com.

Teacher Bio

Kristie Grasis has been practicing Vipassana from the Theravada Buddhist tradition for over a decade. Her most considerable influence has been Gil Fronsdal from Insight Meditation Center in Redwood City, California.

Throughout her dedicated practice, Kristie has studied Meditation extensively with Ruby Grad, the Eightfold Path with Bruni Davila, the Paramis with Chris Clifford, and Metta with John Martin. She is currently enrolled at the SATI Center, training to be a Buddhist Chaplain, and is working toward her ordination with IMC.  Kristie’s practice has taught her loving-kindness for herself and others and has helped her to overcome trauma and thrive with peace and equanimity in her life. She has reached a place in her practice where it is time to focus on Dana and freely teach others the benefits of the Path to Liberation.

Ticket Prices

We ask that you support Flowering Lotus and those whose needs are greater  by registering at the highest level ($75, $50, $25) with which you’re comfortable.

All are welcome to participate, regardless of ability to pay. If you are unable to pay the minimum $25 registration, select “Scholarship”, and no payment will be required.

There will be an opportunity to make a dana* contribution in any amount, to Flowering Lotus and the teachers at the online event. Your generosity is a gift that supports not just the teacher; but also the Sangha (Flowering Lotus); the larger Dharma community; and, most importantly, your own practice.

*Dana is a Pali word that is generally translated “generosity.”  We are taught to practice dana, or generosity, by making monetary offerings for the teachings. Dana is not payment for services rendered – it is given from the heart. Dana is the first theme in the Buddha’s system of gradual training and the first of the three grounds for meritorious action.
