Welcome Beth Herzig as Executive Retreat Director

Updated: Jun 3, 2023

In January, the Board of Directors reaffirmed its commitment to providing quality retreats in the coming years with a focus on expanding offerings through our traveling Sangha. The Board completed a strategic plan which includes upgraded financial systems and the development of a strategic marketing plan. As part of our evolving efforts, we are excited to move Beth Herzig into a new role as Executive Retreat Director.

For the last 7 years, Beth Herzig has volunteered countless hours in several positions on the Flowering Lotus Board of Directors.

Anyone that has attended a Flowering Lotus retreat can testify to the warm welcome they receive from Beth and the attention to detail during the retreats. Part of the role includes training new volunteer retreat directors as well as the development and implementation of many of the new strategic initiatives.

Over the years, many of our retreat participants have asked for a “Dana basket” for Beth at the end of the retreat. At that time, Beth was a voting Board Member and therefore not eligible to receive any compensation. Now, she will be paid a small amount for her dedication and hard work to help keep Flowering Lotus viable and thriving. A prior Board Member described Beth as “the heartbeat of Flowering Lotus.” no words could be more true. Please join us in celebrating Beth’s new role.

As Flowering Lotus continues to grow and continues to spread the Dharma to the Southeast and beyond, there will be moderate increases in expenses. For this reason, we are asking our supporters who are not currently enrolled as monthly sustaining donors to consider doing so at this time. You can contribute any amount you’re comfortable with. No amount is too small.

All donations are tax-deductible. Stayed tuned to learn more about other benefits of being a monthly sustainer, those announcements are coming soon.

If you believe in what we do and want to see us continue and add more offerings please support us.

Wayne Vicknair

Board President
